Cyber Security

Cyber security is important to us. If you have any concerns whatsoever please contact us.

E-mail scams are common and transactions involving Solicitors are frequently targeted. We will never notify you of a change to our bank details by email or telephone. If you receive an email from us that looks suspicious, please contact us immediately on 0191 3887884. For payments we are to make to you, we will have obtained your written instructions regarding bank details at the start of your case; any instructions to change those details will be required in writing from you and after you have answered our security questions.

Buyers/sellers protect yourselves: Do not feel pressured into changing any bank details. If you receive an email purporting to be from us stating a change in our bank details, you should ring us on a previously used/provided telephone number. Check the email address carefully and if in doubt telephone us to check the information is correct. Buyers and Sellers should avoid using public Wi-Fi systems to check emails when property transactions are being made. Fraudsters can easily hack into vulnerable Wi-Fi systems. Avoid sharing social media posts about buying/selling your house. Fraudsters may obtain this information and know the next step is a large financial transaction.

For your peace of mind we are accredited with Cyber Essentials.
